Check out the nice machining work on the suspension. Also note the solar car tires. Very low rolling resistance. These tires aren't easy to come by.

The Lithium Ion Batteries in this years car replaced Lithium Polymer which was used in the last car. The 21 battery cells hold around 5 kilowatt hours.
