Role overview
We’re seeking a detail-oriented Operations Manager to streamline our organizational functions and support our grantmaking initiatives. This role offers significant responsibility across multiple domains essential to our operational success. The Operations Manager will manage our grant pipeline, help with day-to-day finances, manage compliance, visa, and insurance processes, and assist with HR and IT. This role is generalist in nature, and the Operations Manager will work on a wide range of operational projects for the organization. You’ll report to Daniel Kestenholz, COO.
Impact in this role
Macroscopic Ventures has allocated $30 million to combined grantmaking and impact investing in 2025, with plans to scale funding further in subsequent years. In this role, you’ll streamline our processes and help our team deploy these resources more effectively. Your work will directly strengthen our ability to support high-impact projects while building the operational foundation we need to grow.
Key responsibilities
Grant management
- Serve as primary liaison with grantees and philanthropic partners
- Manage grant pipeline, remove roadblocks, and track progress
- Process grant agreements and conduct due diligence
- Ensure grantee reporting compliance and documentation
- Assist with monitoring and evaluation of grant outcomes
Financial management
- Process payments including invoices, reimbursements, payroll, and grants
- Manage expenses, company cards, and receipts collection
Banking & investments
- Process private investments and manage relationships
- Build and maintain banking and brokerage relationships
- Implement risk monitoring systems
Legal & compliance
- Manage contracts for employees, contractors, NDAs, grants, and investments
- Coordinate visa and immigration matters for international staff
- Oversee insurance
IT & communications
- Maintain digital infrastructure, hardware, and software
- Keep website content up to date
- Handle incoming general inquiries and emails

- This is a full-time role, though we’re open to candidates starting at 60-80% time commitment with a path to full-time as the position evolves.
